Tom and George run a short train over the railroad. The engine is a Maryland and Pennsylvania 4-6-0, modeled after their numbers 27 and 28. It was built in the Forest & Wwestern shop between 1981 and 1998 using a few castings from Allen Models (cylinders) and Little Engines (drivers). Most other parts were fabricated or cast from Forest & Western patterns. The caboose was built by my friend Jack and is one of two CB&Q bobbers on the Forest & Western. It is entirely cast aluminum except for wheels and detail parts (ladders, grabs, etc.).
The ten-wheeler tkaes a ride on the then-new turntable. The pit has since been completed and a second approach track added. This video was taken by my friend Ralph whose interesting site is www.hawkinsrails.net.
